When all the ways/roads that people will choose can be predicted and datafied, how to preserve the feeling of the “presence”? When the perishable existence can be measured, the uncertainty turns into certainty, and the total experience is deconstructed into fragments, will this world collapse? How do people fit in nowadays’ datafized and post-truth era in their own way, and how to define and feel the so-called authenticity in this digital era?

I aim to question and inspire people on how to fit in nowadays’ datafized and post-truth era in their way, and how to define and feel the so-called authenticity in this era. In my work, my perspective is, no one can know the essence of our realities, only to live with them and embrace these uncertainties.

 

I captured video of the environment in the real world and also designed a computer-generated landscape using 3D software. In some clips of this video, the physical world’s footage is the texture of the 3D landscape; the 3D world’s assets are overlaying the physical world’s footage. The purpose of making such a contrast is to show how intricately real lives operate and how hard-defining life essences are.
